Speaker Abbas mourns Gombe journalists, condoles NUJ

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D., GCON, has commiserated with the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) over the death of its members in a road crash in Gombe State.

The Speaker described the deaths as painful, shocking, and unfortunate. 
 
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) had confirmed seven deaths, with four other NUJ members sustaining injuries in a lone accident involving a bus belonging to the union in Gombe State on Monday. The journalists were returning from a wedding ceremony in Gombe South Senatorial District.
 
Speaker Abbas, in a condolence message issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, lamented the incident.
 
The Speaker commiserated with the families of the victims while extending his condolences to the NUJ at the state and national levels.
 
He prayed to God to grant the deceased eternal rest and give their families the fortitude to bear the loss. He
wished the injured a quick recovery.
